This course is designed to increase your knowledge of fundamental biological principles that represent our current understanding of the world around us. Throughout this course you will work on your analytical thinking skills in the context of living organisms. Topics to be covered include macromolecules, cell structure & function, DNA structure & function, energetics (photosynthesis & cellular respiration), protein synthesis & regulation, cell cycle, inheritance, genetics, evolution & the origin of life and biodiversity.
